The snow plow has covered the fire hydrants!!! But, has left clear the mailboxes! This can be a serious problem if the fire department cannot get to them. I left a message today on BC Communities reception line about this. It was suggested that perhaps they follow New England and place tall flags on the fire hydrants during the winter months so that they can be easily located. Or, perhaps, the snow plowmen could be more mindful of this? Or, designated persons in the community could be assigned the task of clearing away the snow from around the hydrants....just sayin'.
Also, since some sidewalks are not cleared, pedestrians are forced to walk on the street especially dog walkers. To those people driving, SLOW DOWN!!! Perhaps, lowering your speed to 10 - 15 miles per hr is in order (this should be obvious). I've noticed some cars speeding through EVEN WHEN THERE IS ICE ON THE STREET and pedestrian traffic.
