We have to find a better way to deal with large amounts of snow and the removal process.   I have observed other develoments that move the snow into/ onto open areas, vs. pushing the snow into blocking everyone's driveways.  Can we approach our plow service and negotiate a solution to this continious problem.  If we have enough support, we can make this change.

I agree.  The snow removal has very bad the last two years.  I put in a complaint at BCC and it is a matter that I plan on bringing up at the Feb 23rd meeting.  If this is the same contractor as last year, and based on the sloppy work, I believe it is, then we need to hire a contractor that actual wants to do the job and do it properly.

The physics of pushing snow forward with a large plow on the front of a truck will always result in snow being cast off to each side of the plow, but the majority of snow is pushed forward.

Are you suggesting that a top loader be used to pick up the snow carefuly and drive it down to the common areas (storm water basins for example)?  This would result in no extra snow in your driveway for sure, but every home owner's annual assessment would have to go up to $1000 a year or more to pay for such a thing.  But it could be done if everyone wants it this way.

Do you know of a city or a development that gets no extra snow on the side of the road and in front of driveways.  If so, I gotta see this and I gotta ask how much they pay for so many hours of work.
